HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Day of the Dead Edition

Welcome everyone to the 122nd edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only has a Fudd appeal?  Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the suppressed AR17 was fudd crap.

At this time the original auction has ended with a final bid of $655.  Congratulations to GunBroker buyer Jackrob620 on the purchase of what you’ve deemed a hot gat.

In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a Day of the Dead themed Glock 19 in 9mm. As is tradition, this holiday-themed gat is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $905 (Current Bid) with No Reserve.

Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:

“My spirit wouldn’t be offended if this was an ofrenda at my altar” – Rusty S.

Selling this very specific holiday gat is GunBroker seller RhinoFirst, located in Miami FL.  Let’s see what they had to say about this custom Gen3 Glock 19.

New in box custom Cerakoted and engraved Glock 19 GEN 3, Semi-automatic, Striker Fired, Compact, 9MM, 4.02″ barrel, (2) 15Rd Mags, Fixed Sights, Cerakoted and engraved Polymer frame, Cerakoted and engraved slide.

See pictures for details.  The firearm in the pictures is the one for sale.

Of all the Glocks that have been featured here on HGFC, this one already makes it into the top 50%.  Why?  Well because this person remembered the first rule of modifying Glocks and replaced the factory sights.

The Robins Egg Blue is certainly a cerakote job, that was then followed up by some interesting engraving.  At least this time someone had more of a budget, and less of a soldering iron in their garage.

At first I thought this was a Gen4 Glock as the engraver has removed the finger grooves on the grip.  Personally, I’m indifferent to the finger grooves, but it’s always a strange talking point among Glock purists.

I really don’t understand the theme of this Glock 19.  Maybe I’ve just never pondered being so rich where I had specality carry gun for each holiday.  Or maybe I’ve never dated a girl in the cartel and wondered “what do I get her for her favorite holiday?”.  Both questions I’ll probably have to never ask.

With a current bid of $905 dollars and no reserve, this gun will sell.  The only question now is how much is this gun really worth?  Well, that and the question you’ve all come here to answer.  As always I leave up to you, the readers, to decide.
