POTD: French FR-F2 Sniper Rifle - 35th Infantry Regiment -The Firearm Blog

The service history of the French FR-F2 begins in 1986. It’s a bolt-action rifle in 7.62x51mm NATO and it’s about to be replaced by something new. Like a lot of European countries, France has been shopping around quite actively in recent years, with purchases from Heckler & Koch, Glock and FN Herstal.

As you can see, these FR-F2s have been equipped with target lasers. I guess that might be the “trigger” the sniper below is pushing to “shoot” at the pretended enemy’s sensors to score a hit.

The safety of the FR-F2 is located at the rear of the trigger.

After the combat training phase in urban areas, the guys from 35 began a combat phase over several days. This simulation allows them to apply the know-how acquired during the first week.
