POTD: Heckler & Koch M110A1 Squad Designated Marksman Rifle

    M110A1 SDMR

Photo Of The Day: What a great, crisp, photo of the M110A1 Squad Designated Marksman Rifle (SDMR) above. And there are plenty more if you scroll down. Above you have U.S. Army Sgt. Divante Scott, 1-114th Infantry Regiment, 44th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, from the New Jersey Army National Guard.

The location is Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., on October 28, 2021.

The 44th IBCT are the first New Jersey National Guard Soldiers to train and field the new M110A1 SDMR weapon. The M110A1 is a 7.62 mm rifle, which gives Soldiers greater range and accuracy than the standard M4 rifle.

Below: A rare sight, looking down the sights made by SIG Sauer on the M110A1 Squad Designated Marksman Rifle (SDMR) made by Heckler & Koch. This amuses me. Imagine if Heckler & Koch made sight, what woould they be like? I guess Schmidt & Bender comes close.

The mount is made by Geissele Automatics. Note the back-up sights.
