POTD: The FN SCAR-H PR Has Arrived In France

The French Army has been on a shopping spree including firearms from Glock, Heckler & Koch and FN Herstal. For their Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle, the choice landed on the FN SCAR-H PR and included 2,600 rifles equipped with high-end rifle scopes from Schmidt & Bender with clip-on night sights. If you want to learn more about the riflescope check out our review: The 1-8×24 PM II ShortDot Dual CC – from Schmidt & Bender, partly made on a very similar setup that the French Army is going to use.

Il est arrivé! – Here is the communication, translated from French by Google:

On Monday, October 11, 2021, the 13th Alpine Hunter Battalion received its first SCAR-H PR, a new semi-automatic sniper rifle that will equip all Army snipers. The acquisition of the SCAR-H PR is part of a dynamic driven by the Military Programming Law (LPM) 2019-2025, aimed at renewing the Army’s light weapons.

The new SCAR-H PR sniper rifle makes its debut in the 27th Mountain Infantry Brigade (27th BIM). The mountain troops are the first to be equipped with this new weaponry. Equipment plays a central role in a soldier’s operational capability. Being more mobile, better protected, operating in comfortable equipment, being able to communicate at any time with other deployed units, are all challenges that require regular development of combat equipment. This October 11, it is therefore the alpine hunters of the 13th battalion of alpine hunters (13th BCA) who have just received their new rifle.

The French company PGM Précision supplies the bipod.

The suppressor from B&T is nowhere to be found in these pictures.
