Midwest Industries have expanded their line of rifle parts and accessories by introducing the new Side Folding Extruded Stock. With a silhouette resembling the triangle AK side folders, this stock looks really good on AK pattern rifles, however, being 1913 rail compatible, it will work with any firearm that has a Picatinny rail section as a stock mounting interface.

The main body of Midwest Industries Side Folding Extruded Stock is made of hard coat anodized 6061 aluminum. The folding mechanism is made of heat treated 4140 steel and has a manganese phosphate finish. The top surface of the stock is curved to provide a more comfortable cheek weld. The stock has five QD sling swivel mounting points – ambi sockets near the folding mechanism and heel, and a single centered socket at the toe. This stock can be configured to fold either to the right or left side of the weapon – a great feature for those who are running a side rail mounted scope on an AK allowing to fold the stock while having the mount/sight on the gun. When installed, this stock adds 3/4″ and 9″ to the length of the firearm in folded and deployed positions respectively. The overall weight of the MI Side Folding Extruded Stock is 15.5 oz.
Midwest Industries Side Folding Extruded Stock is listed on the company’s website at an MSRP of $184.95. The company reminds that the end-user is responsible for meeting the ATF requirements as attaching this stock to a pistol will turn it into an SBR.
