ADIHEX, the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, is an annual event, that of course skipped 2020, happening by September in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The show focuses on traditional outdoor activities of the region, including hunting. In the area dedicated to firearms, this year, the Emirati-owned Liwa Arms made its official debut.

As we are introducing a new company, let’s first have them describe their business in their own words:

About Liwa Arms:
An Emirati company for the manufacture of hunting rifles, established in 2019 with a primary mission of enriching the local and regional market, as well as the global market, with products of the highest standards of quality and accuracy, designed and manufactured at competitive prices compared to their global counterparts, to achieve the main objective of establishing Liwa Arms Company, which is to become a Hunting rifles producer at an affordable price for all segments of society, including hunting and shooting enthusiasts. In addition to being an important tributary that contributes to the development and progress of the industrial sector in the United Arab Emirates.

Liwa Arms aim to become one of the pillars of preserving and reviving customs and traditions in the UAE society in particular, the Gulf and Arab society in general, where hunting and shooting were and still are an integral part of the identity of the Arab citizen.

At ADIHEX, the Company was hosted by Caracal in their spacious booth, it is however an independent privately owned business. According to the company representative, it has operations both in the UAE and in Slovakia.

It was established in 2019 as a manufacturer of quality, yet affordable, hunting rifles. The Covid pandemic delayed the official debut in the region to this edition of ADIHEX. Future events in other regions (Europe and the USA) will see the launch in those markets.

Currently, Liwa Arms offers one single model of straight-pull bolt action rifle with a rotating bolt head, the Chayeh Z20 chambered in .308 Winchester.

Price and availability

The aim of the company is to offer a straight-pull bolt action rifle with quality so far seen only on “luxury” models, at a price range accessible to most hunters. According to the representative, the European target price for the Chayeh Z20 will start around Euro 1,400 (about $1,625). The rifles will likely be available during 2022 to the global market.
