HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Ranch Hand or Can’t Stand this Ruger 22 Charger?

Welcome everyone to the 113th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only has a Fudd appeal?  Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the limited Colt King Cobra was fudd crap.

HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Ranch Hand or Can’t Stand this Ruger 22 Charger?

The Ruger 22 Charger is one of those niche guns that you’d expect to be owned by someone who uses the word “plinking” far too often.  It’s technically a pistol, but it falls into that strange “I don’t know how else to describe it category”.  In this case, that’s nice as I really don’t know how to describe this cerakote job.

I’m not sure if those symbols are supposed to be various brands, or if I’m looking at a strange interpretation of an Ouija board.  Either way, I’m surprised the seller committed to making ten of these for this listing.  Like all Ruger 10/22 pattern rifles, I’m sure this charger is a ton of fun to shoot.  With the ability to accept a silencer and an optic, this gun would provide plenty of cheap thrills at the range.  Well, I guess if you agree with the theme.

I’m clearly not the biggest fan of the Ruger 22 Charger or this particular paint scheme.  However, it’s not up for me to determine the fate of this custom Ruger.  As always I leave it up to you, the readers, to decide.
