POTD: The G95 (HK416 A7) Rifle of German KSK

    G95 KSK

TFB’s Photo Of The Day can be many things. Today we get a good look at the setup that the German KSK Special Forces are using on their not-so-black rifle. KSK is short for Kommando SpezialKräfte, or Special Forces Command. The KSK takes part in typical SOF operations and they are armed with the Heckler & Koch HK416 in the A7 / G95 configuration. In terms of optics, they are using the EOTech EXPS3 with a G33 magnifier with offset Iron Sights as backup. From Rheinmetall, they are using the LM-VTAL and the TL-MISSIONLIGHT. Of course, there’s some Magpul furniture on the G95 as well, just look at that AFG-2.

More about the G95 designation can be found here: HK416 A7 to be called G95 by the German Special Forces.

Below is a video of the KSK G95, going through the firearm and suppressors etc. For UTM/Simunition training, the KSK is using training suppressors that mimic the weight and dimensions of the B&T M.A.R.S.

I’m sure you will enjoy the less than perfect magazine change here, but at least it’s not a total disaster.

In for some more? TFB got you covered with these articles: German Special Forces with the Heckler & Koch G95, Heckler & Koch G95K with HK269 Grenade Launcher and Bundeswehr Testing New G95K at Yuma Proving Ground.
