Everyone is getting their hands in on the pistol-mounted red dot scene and that includes the recently relocated Riton Optics Company. Following an influx of customer feedback, Riton Optics has opted to revamp their 3 Tactix MPRD and 3 Tactix PRD red dot optics with the PRD 2 and MPRD 2 versions. The new optics incorporate a number of customer-requested features that make the pistol more user-friendly and also add a few creature comforts that make maintaining the optic much simpler for the end-user.

Riton released their first pistol red dot optic just over a year ago and since then, customers have had time to use, abuse, and critique the Riton platform. Customers overwhelmingly wanted more features out of both the MPRD (Micro Pistol Red Dot) and the PRD. As a result, version two of both optics has just been announced and the list of added features is everything you’d expect out of a modern pistol red dot.

Some of the new features for both the MPRD 2 and PRD 2 include shake awake technology which helps to conserve battery life when the red dot is not in use, auto-brightness which constantly samples the available lighting and either brightens or dims the red dot to match the ambient light settings and an auto-shutoff feature which automatically disables the red dot after 12 hours of inactivity which further extends the life of the battery.  As a last change from the original, the PRD 2 and MPRD 2 will also feature low battery indicators which will give you an advanced warning of when your battery is about to kick the bucket.

The 3 TACTIX MPRD 2 will retail for an MSRP of $299.99 and the 3 TACTIX PRD 2 will go for the same price. Both optics feature a 3 MOA dot and a Shield and an RMR footprint respectively. At the time of writing, both optics are currently for sale from the Riton Optics website and are both in stock.
