In a recent search warrant executed by the 114th Precinct of the New York Police Department, several weapons, ammunition, and body armor were confiscated and the suspects arrested and charged with criminal possession of weapons. While this may be a frequent occurrence across the nation for police departments, what caught my eye with this snippet from the NYPD Instagram page was the grouping of novelty knives and non-firearms that were confiscated which made this search warrant look more like a raid on the Ninja Turtles hideout rather than a routine warrant execution.

NYPD Busts Ninja Turtle Hideout and Confiscates Weapons

Chief among the weapons confiscated were a sawed-off Remington 742 without a stock, a Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolver, as well as what looks like 3 unfired rounds of rifle ammunition and 6-rounds of .38 Special wadcutters. Other weapons included a smattering of shopping mall oddities including a blow dart gun, a crossbow with two bolts, a Cold Steel Gladius Machete, 3 smaller knives, and finally a single Sai that looks like it might have been confiscated from Raphael of TNMT (Sai or Saitachi are commonly used in pairs). A plate carrier was also confiscated and it did appear to have armor inserts added to at least the front of it.

All the weapons as well as Field Intelligence Officers & Public Safety Officers were posed for pictures on the New York Police Department’s Facebook and Instagram pages to showcase their work. While this haul of mall ninja weaponry can seem quite humorous to us at the moment, one has to wonder what kind of mental torture someone had to have been going through to mutilate that poor Remington 742 that had both its stock and a hefty portion of its 22-inch barrel lopped off. I am personally morbidly curious to find out what it must have been like to shoot that rifle without its stock as it appears that at least 13-rounds have been fired. This has to be one of the more hilariously diverse sets of confiscated weapons I’ve come across online in the United States.
