POTD: GIGN – Groupe d'Intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale
The World moves faster and faster, and the number of images produced grows even faster. But rest assured, TFB’s Photo Of The Day will keep its focus on guns and firearms. Here various Special Forces and other special units play a central role and today it’s time to say bonjour to GIGN (Groupe d’Intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale) of France.
Created in 1974, GIGN is a national counter-terrorism unit operating both in France and abroad. The missions of the GIGN are varied: counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, arrest of dangerous madmen, close protection of diplomats abroad, fighting organized crime, etc.
Note the CZ BREN 2, most likely chambered in 7.62×39mm.
The GIGN is organized around these groups:
– The Intervention Force
– The Observation / Research Force
– The Security / Protection Force
– La Force Formation
– Security Group of the Presidency of the Republic.

The images are from GIGN’s official Facebook (Cellule communication GIGN & Tim GIGN).

Very nice stripe camo paint job on that HK417 in the first picture.
They even painted the barrel and the scope.
Must be Air dry, heat resistant Cerakote to be on the plastic scope body and the barrel.
I like it
Is that a Brevis Delta suppressor on their Bren 2?
