POTD: Multiple Weapons Training in the New Zealand Army

Multiple Weapons Training in the New Zealand Army

Photo Of The Day and we’re looking at the 1st Battalion of the Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment Fire Support Group (FSG) who are out in the tussock sharpening their skills in Waiouru. They trained with multiple weapons, including the M107A1 Anti-Materiel Rifle, Heckler & Koch 40mm Grenade Machine Gun, FGM-148 Javelin Anti-Tank Missile and MAG-58 Sustained Fire Machine Gun.

Quote from the New Zealand Army:

Our soldiers are playing a large role in the NZ Defence Force’s commitment to Op Protect and the opportunity to be able to conduct training in the field during this time is essential to ensure that we’re still able to maintain readiness to deploy.

The old MAG-58 is still going strong.

All in all, it looks like a fun day with a lot of weapon variety. I think the Heckler & Koch GMG would be my biggest desire to try if I had the choice.
