POTD: Russian Marines in an Amphibious Landing Operation

You’re looking at another Photo Of The Day and today we have some Russian Marines demonstrating an amphibious landing operation. In total, about 500 military personnel of the Russian Marine Corps were involved, including 10 ships, boats and vessels and more than 30 units of automobiles and other special equipment.

Regardless of the color, I guess it’s nice to get some cover from smoke as you land on a potentially hostile beach.

The soldiers of the marine assault companies landed on the coast from Mi-8 helicopters by assault from a height of up to 3 m in full combat gear and captured the landing bridgehead, thereby ensuring the deployment and possibility of tactical maneuver of the main marine landing forces.
