HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Joker's Deagle or Just a Joke?

Welcome everyone to the 101st edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only has a Fudd appeal?  Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the Semmerling LM4 was a hot gat.

HGFC – Is This Semmerling LM4 Rare or Ridiculous — Poll Results

At this time, the original auction is still up with no bids on the LM4. We can only hope that someone caring enough (and with deep enough pockets) can find it in their heart to adopt this little pocket pistol.

In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a custom Desert Eagle chambered in .44 Magnum. As is tradition, this long-barreled Deagle is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $1,795.00.

Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:

“For those who want a semiauto that will cycle on a stand-off distance contact shot” – Rusty S.

“The color scheme looks like it was inspired by Baron Zemo in the comics.” – Doug E.

“Perfect choice for the Green Hornet willing not to be overmatched by Chudnofsky!” – Giorgio O.

Selling this two-tone gat is GunBroker seller motomc2, located in San Antonio TX.  Let’s see what they had to say about this long-barreled Desert Eagle.

Wait, so the 14″ barrel is optional?  But for how much?  This listing provides more questions than it does actual answers.  The turquose finish makes absolutely zero sense, unless you consdier the fact that maybe this was some variant one year.  I mean, they do make them in gold tiger stripe.

Unlike most of the custom guns seen here on HGFC, this finish does actually show some signs of wear.  Even stranger when you consider just how rare it is to see a Desert Eagle at any local range.  I’m sure pulling out one, especially with this finish, would turn a few heads.

HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Joker’s Deagle or Just a Joke?

All jokes aside, these Israel Military Industry (IMI) Desert Eagles are incredibly cool guns.  There’s a large debate about whether or not the new manufacture Desert Eagles built by Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) match that of the original IMI guns.  Either way, I like an original IMI Deagle, even if I’m partial the the 14″ barrel and turquoise finish.

So is this two tone IMI Desert Eagle worth saving based on its heritiage?  Or is it better to just move on and look at something new?  As always, I leave it up to you, the reader, to decide.
