POTD: Norwegian Naval Special Operation Commando with HK417

Norwegian Naval Special Operation Commando with HK417

Each day a different image from the World of firearms. We call this POTD, short for Photo Of The Day, and it’s our daily article series where we go to great lengths trying to find the most interesting pictures out there for you. Today we have Norwegian Naval Special Operation Commandos on a shooting range in northern Norway.

Some may laugh at the amount of blowback smoke in the picture above, but I would guess it’s due to a well-cleaned rifle with a lot (too much?) oil and the first shot, cold bore.

Left-handed shooting with what I think is a Colt Canada C8 SFW. Aimpoint red dot with magnifier.

Below: Suppressed HK417 with Schmidt & Bender 1-8×24 ShortDot Dual CC. I think the suppressor is from B&T Switzerland, but there are many great makers of suppressors in Norway as well. Modular Integrated Communications Helmet.

All photos are from the Norwegian Defense, taken by Mr. Torbjørn Kjosvold / Forsvaret.

You can check the review of the riflescope here: TFB Review: The 1-8×24 PM II ShortDot Dual CC – from Schmidt & Bender.
