If you have a taste and interest in firearms and soldiering, this is where you’ll find some of the greatest photographers in the world on the subject. Let TFB’s Photo Of The Day be your daily guide and leisure. Above we have U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Dillon, a machine gunner with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, holding security with an M240B machine gun. The event is a tactics exercise for Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) in 2019. The Marines, a part of Charlie Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, maneuvered and assaulted an objective as a company for the exercise.

BALTOPS is an annual joint, multinational maritime-focused exercise. It is designed to improve training for participants, enhance flexibility and interoperability, and demonstrate resolve among allied and partner forces in defending the Baltic Sea region.

Below: U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Dante Powell, a rifleman with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, scans for movement while on a patrol.

All photos by Cpl. Antonio Garcia.

M240G, Army uses the M240B, the Golf has no hand guards. You will only grab a hot barrel
    once.

@Cry Havoc My understanding is it's only the heat shield, which seams like an insignificant part to justify a whole new designation.

I started to see some B models sneak in to the Infantry in 2004, maybe 05. M4's as well at that same time frame.

@Collecting History Some men don't age so well. Sean Penn or Mickey Rourke is another fine example of someone that pulled back on that jug of booze one too many times.
