Norden Knives: New Knife Brand by Shield Arms -The Firearm Blog

Shield Arms has published a press release announcing the launch of their sister knife company called Norden Knives. The new company is located in Montana and their knives are made in-house. Norden means North in Old Norse and the n-shaped symbol of their logo is inspired by the Nordic rune Uruz. The company states that its vision is “to establish Norden Knives as the premiere knife supplier that is still obtainable to the everyday outdoorsman“.

The first and only product currently listed on Norden Knives’ website is a full-tang fixed blade knife called Ascent. Let’s take a look at the features of this knife which should give us an idea of what market segment the company is targeting and what to expect to see in their future products.

Norden Knives Ascent Knife

Norden Knives Ascent knife features a Nitro-V stainless steel drop point blade that has a 61-62 HRC hardness. The blade length is 3.6″ and the overall length is 7.8″. The spine thickness of the blade is .105″. The blade also features spine jimping and a sharpening choil. Micarta scales are attached to the tang via stainless steel screws. The handle has a pair of lanyard holes. The knife is currently available with the handle design shown above, but a version with scalloped handles (see below) will be available soon as well. The Ascent knife is hand finished. This knife comes with a Kydex sheath that is ambidextrous and can be attached to a belt or MOLLE webbing vertically or horizontally. The MSRP of Norden Knives Ascent knife is $150.
