TFB’s Photo Of The Day has taken us to almost every place on Earth. As far as I know, these are the first images TFB ever published from New Caledonia. We’re looking at Pacific Volunteers, the French land task force in the South Pacific. They have some 700 soldiers ready for immediate engagement.
New Caledonia, a special collectivity of France, is located some 17 000 km (about 11 000 miles) from France, in the southwest Pacific Ocean. The population of New Caledonia is about 270 000.
Above you can see the FR-F2 Sniper rifle but they also have FN Minimis. The FR-F2 is in for retirement just like the FAMAS. I wonder if it will be replaced by the FN SCAR-H DMR or something else.
The GTIA (Groupement Tactique Interarmes) carries out an offensive maneuver as part of a medium-intensity engagement over 7 days and a depth of 60 km.
