A lot of us here on TFB including you readers have expressed the notion that training could be made a lot cheaper using BB guns or air rifles. SIG Sauer has just dropped their new SIG MCX Canebrake Pellet Air Rifle with some pretty rad features and realistic 30-round magazine capacity. This should prove to be a great way to take some of your gear you might have on a similar rifle and put it into a pellet rifle that could probably be realistically used for training or some light pest control.

I’d imagine that the 600fps claim is probably for only the first couple of magazines. I’m glad to see that they didn’t opt to go for the much smaller and less effective 12gram cartridges to power the air rifle as I think you’d probably get less than a magazine of 600fps performance out of it before needing to replace it.
