PROOF Research has announced a new addition to their line of bolt-action rifles called the Tundra. This is a hunting rifle and as described by the company, it brings the adjustability and performance of a tactical rifle into a long-range hunting platform. The PROOF Research Tundra rifle utilizes a Defiance Ruckus action fitted with a PROOF Research carbon fiber wrapped barrel and bedded into a carbon fiber stock. This rifle is available in the following caliber options: 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor. 6.5 PRC, 7mm Remington Magnum, .28 Nosler, .308 Winchester, .300 Winchester Magnum, .300 WSM, .300 PRC, .300 RUM, .338 Lapua Magnum. Depending on the caliber, the rifle is offered with 22″, 24″ or 26″ Sendero contour barrels, however, custom barrel lengths can be ordered too. All barrels are threaded with the 5/8×24″ thread pitch and come standard with a thread protector but there is an option of adding a muzzle brake for an additional charge.
The carbon fiber stock of the Tundra rifle has a Monte Carlo profile adjustable cheekpiece. The standard length of pull is 13 5/8″. The stock is available in a variety of color and camouflage options – Black Granite, Brown Granite, Green Granite, TFDE, Black Jungle Camo, Blue Jungle Camo, Green Jungle Camo, Desert Warrior, Grassland Green, Grassland Tan and Cotton Candy. Tundra rifles also feature BDL style magazines, Trigger Tech triggers, three sling swivel studs and a single-piece pinned top Picatinny rail. The overall weight of this rifle varies from 7lbs 3oz to 8lbs 6oz. All Tundra rifles are backed by a sub 1/2 MOA accuracy guarantee.
The standard configuration PROOF Research Tundra rifles have price tags of $6,999 or $7,199. Apparently, the price difference is determined by the stock color/camouflage with the single-color Black, Brown and Green Granite options being the more affordable ones.
