Aaron Miesse, also known as “Chamberbrake” in the ELR (Extreme Long Range) world, is an impressive shooter. He can boast a number of serious shooting accomplishments, including some 2,780 yard impacts with a 375 CheyTac in competition, 10 for 10 in a 10″ circle with a .308 at 901 yards, and 8″-10″ groups at 540 yards with a .22 LR, among others. And as if a man who could end you from a different zip code wasn’t extraordinary enough, Miesse brings an added layer of badassery to the formula: he does all of this with no hands or arms. Having suffered a tragic auger accident when he was just five years old, Miesse has never let his early double amputation slow him down. His personal motto is “Forward Forever, Backward Never”, and it shows. Now Miesse has a new amazing shooting accomplishment to add to his résumé: a connecting shot at 3 miles. Most of us who can brace a rifle on our shoulders and don’t pull the trigger with our toes would have real trouble managing such a feat.

For perspective: with the target in question measuring 52″ at over 5,280 yards, that’s right about one minute of angle, or equivalent to hitting a one-inch target at 100 yards. Add in numerous additional considerations for factors like the interpositional wind and accentuated bullet drop, which would provide significantly more interference for a 1 MOA shot over 53 football fields worth of distance than over just one, and it’s not hard to see why this hit is so remarkable. Cadex Defense posted that the rifle used was one of their CDX-50 Tremor actions in .416 Barret Match in a Cadex Dual Strike Chassis, built by Vestals Custom Rifles. Cadex and Vestals both report that not only was Miesse able to use this rifle to make a 3-mile connection, but three other shooters that day managed the same feat. Pretty awesome! Is there a 3 mile club? Thats 5,280 yards or 53 football fields. Great day in my favorite place Kansas. I finally made it to 3 miles so one more off my list to do before they drag me to the Golden gates. Cannot thank Todd and Travis for all the effort from moving buffalo out of way, loading and unloading gear in 20 mph winds various times and a flat tire on way to set up spot. I used a 416 barett match built by Vestals Custom Rifles with the Cutting Edge Bullets 550 lazer. The bullets max ordinance or max height in flight was 1,110 feet and had a flight time 12.6 seconds to impact at 2900 FPS at muzzle and 800 at target. . Had a charlie macro and delta by tacomHQ to get the 113 mils. This is a bartlien barrel in a cadex chassis with nightforce 7×35 ATACR. Took 13 shots and many of those landed right at plate which was 52″ or 1 MOA. Yes the shots were taken off top of a suburban. Video didn’t pan out including a post video at target so pics it is.
