EAA/Akkar has just revamped their popular Akkar Churchill 220 and 620 shotguns for home defense. Shotguns provide unparalleled close-range power but often are too long to be properly used within the home where narrow hallways are common. The new Churchill 220 pump-action and 620 semi-auto Optics Tactical shotguns have been improved to allow for use within the home.

We took our pouplar Churchill 20ga Pump-Action shotgun and reconfigured it for Tactical Hom Defense. We machined the Optics Rail into the receiver for easy target acqusition and included Red Dot optics, we semi-enhanced the loading port, we added a pistol grip stock, a breaching choske tube and shorten the barrel to 18.5″, we also included accessible controls to give you the Churchill 20ga Tactical series (Home Defense without the Kick)

While I’d still prefer an SBR AR-15 for home defense, shotguns do provide you with a lot of power in a familiar platform for those that want the option. The addition of a red dot sight I think is a smart modification although I am not 100% certain what type or style of red dot this optic is. The designers also made it easy for you to remove and re-attach the red dot with the inclusion of a QD lever for the optic mount – I suppose if you really wanted to you could take this shotgun out to the trap range to get in some practice with it.
