POTD: Memorial – Heckler & Koch HK416 in France

    Heckler & Koch HK416 France
We just passed the Heckler & Koch HK416 appreciation day: April 16. To compensate we have a Photo Of The Day with pictures from the French 35e régiment d’infanterie.

I have lived a few years in France, but unfortunately, my French is too weak (without red wine) to make professional translations. My understanding is that this is a memorial from the First World War and that the soldiers are paying their respects to the people and soldiers who did not make it. They have not forgotten.

If you ever travel around Europe, I strongly suggest that you take some time to visit some of the memorials or cemeteries that are around, including the German ones.

The classic FAMAS rifle is still around, but the new Heckler & Koch HK416F is showing up more and more and supplies keep on growing since the start in 2017.

The plan for the French Army was that 38505 units will be the HK416F Standard version and 54575 units will be of the HK416F Short version. The majority of the HK416F will be (Court) Short, with an 11″ barrel.
