Tyrant Designs Glock 17 Gen 3 Magwell Released

Tyrant Designs has been busting out the aftermarket accessories this year and has just released their latest set of precision CNC machined pistol parts. The Tyrant Designs Glock 17 Gen 3 Magwell has a couple of new features like their custom crosshair patterned screws, and compatibility for Generations 3 through 5 of Glock’s 17, 22, 31, 34, 35, and 45 handguns. The new Tyrant Designs Glock 17 Gen 3 Magwell is available now for $69.95 from the Tyrant Designs website. Color options include black, red, gray, blue, gold, and machined aluminum. The colors for the crosshair patterned mounting screws are either black or gold.

Guide your loaded magazine smoothly and quickly into the Glock pistol’s grip with the sleek Glock 17/22/31/34/35/45 Magwell from Tyrant Designs. Made of high quality materials, these carefully designed magwells make it so easy that with just a little practice you can load a fresh magazine without ever looking at the pistol. Win competitions or defend yourself better with those added seconds.

How it all works

The magwell adapter flairs out to create a wider opening to guide the magazine into the firearm. Shaped like a funnel, it cuts down on the fumbling and the need for an exact aim to get the magazine into the firearm. Less fumbling equals faster reload speed. Our Glock magwells for the Glock 17, 22, 31, 34, 35, 45* ( GEN 5 version for GLOCK 45 ) line also improves magazine change consistency.

Magwells made to fit Gen 3, Gen 4, Gen 5

Designed to work on all, these Glock Magwells offer the tightest fit in the industry. Gen 3/4/5 Glock frames offer a solid one-piece design. The magwells for the Glock 17/22/31/34/35/45 are optimized for use with standard Glock factory magazines and a variety of aftermarket floor plates and extensions.

I’d really like to see a version of the Gen 3 magwell designed to fit the Glock 44. With the addition of a better-flared magwell, I think you could conceivably turn the humble .22LR pistol into a great contender for Rimfire Steel Challenge or plate rack competitions. Some of the fun with guns is tinkering with them and Tyrant Designs makes things look good in the process.

What about Glock 20 and 21s?

@Sense Offender The lack of large frame aftermarket parts is disappointing. I have a Gen 2 G20 and built a P80 G20, but I’ve been sharing slides for now. I’m so thankful that Rockey Brass came out with a RMR G20 slide, but I still haven’t gotten it yet because I’ve been diverting all disposable income to items likely to be restricted. I did however take a Tyrant Designs Gen 3 small frame extended slide release and with a vise, hammer, some small tools, and Dremel, I was able to make it work 100% reliably in the G20. It wasn’t hard, but it was very time consuming (for a project of its size) and took a lot of trips to the range to modify/test/modify/test/etc. https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

That’s a seriously competitive price considering it’s aluminum and not polymer.
