Standard Manufacturing has announced a new semi-automatic rimfire rifle called G4S. The company states that their new rifle is “the ultimate in semiautomatic rifles chambered in .22LR” and adds that it is “ideally suited for plinking and precision shooting“. Judging by the receiver shape, location of the charging handle and the design of other elements of this rifle, I think the G4S is likely based on the Standard Manufacturing 1922, a scaled-down rimfire replica of the Thompson submachine gun.

Standard Manufacturing G4S rifle features a machined 7075 aluminum receiver and a 16.5″ stainless steel lined barrel fitted with a Cutts-style compensator. It is equipped with a 6-position adjustable AR-15 stock. The overall length is 35″-38″. The rifle comes with a 10-round box magazine but there is also a 50-round drum magazine available separately.

As you can see, the accessory mounting options are everywhere on this rifle and include every popular interface. There are Picatinny rails on the top and bottom of the handguard and both KeyMod and M-LOK slots on its sides. The thumbhole stock/chassis encloses the receiver providing a top 1913 rail as well as KeyMod and M-LOK slots on the sides. I wonder for what accessories sides of the receiver could possibly be the best mounting location.

The Standard Manufacturing G4S rifle is listed on the company’s website at an MSRP of $549. The box magazines cost $49 and the 50-round drum mags have a price tag of $249! Both the rifle and magazines currently have a coming soon status.

While Standard Manufacturing 1922 looked really cool, this rifle has a rather controversial appearance, to say the least.
