Nosler has added new caliber and stock color options for their M48 Mountain Carbon Rifle. This rifle is now available chambered in 6.5 Precision Rifle Cartridge (6.5 PRC) and .280 Ackley Improved (.280 AI). The Shale Gray is added as a new stock color option and the Hunter Green color of the stock is replaced with the new Granite Green color.

With the addition of two new calibers, the M48 Mountain Carbon Rifle is now available in ten chamberings – three short action (6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC) and seven long/standard action (26 Nosler, 27 Nosler, 280 AI, 28 Nosler, .300 Win Mag, 30 Nosler, 33 Nosler). Like all other caliber options, the 6.5 PRC and .280 AI versions of this rifle are also equipped with 24″ PROOF Research Sendero Light profile carbon fiber wrapped cut-rifled barrels, however, the overall length is different by half an inch (44.5″ for 6.5 PRC and 45″ for .280 AI) due to the length of the cartridges/actions. The twist rate of the 6.5 PRC barrel is 1:8″ and the 280 AI barrel has a twist rate of 1:9. The muzzles are threaded with the 5/8-24″ thread pitch. The magazine capacity is 3 rounds for the 6.5 PRC rifle and 4 rounds for the .280 AI. The M48 Mountain Carbon Rifle chambered in new cartridges retains its impressive overall weight of 6 lbs.

The new Granite Green color of the carbon fiber stock is reportedly more uniform and durable compared to the previous Hunter Green color thanks to the new superior paint used. The barreled action is glass and aluminum pillar bedded into the stock and the barrel is free-floated. The metal surfaces are coated with Tungsten Grey color Cerakote. The M48 Mountain Carbon Rifles come with Timney triggers installed. Nosler guarantees sub-MOA accuracy with their ammunition.
