Welcome everyone to the 86th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only has Fudd appeal?  Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the Chinese AK was a Hot Gat.

At this time the original auction remains up with no bids placed on the rifle.  We can only hope there’s a buyer out there that’s willing to give this hot gat a new home.

In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a custom M&P 9L Performance Center. As is tradition, this uniquely themed gat is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $950 Starting Bid or $1,400 Buy It Now.

Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:

“It’s like someone spilled a vat of McDonald’s ketchup on the gun and just thought, “Meh, it don’t look that bad, ” but we’re here to tell you it indeed looks bad.” – Adam S.

“Come and take it? No, thanks, I’m good” – Giorgio O.

“This is a ripe molon” – Matt M.

“You can take the gun out of the trailer park but you can’t take the trailer park out of the gun!” – Matt E.

“At least you can presume it has a low round count, because this trash wouldn’t be owned by any legit shooter who burns more than one mag per fiscal quarter.” – Will P.

“Looks like it was painted with a crayon.” – Nick C.

Custome Smith and wesson M&P 9L Performance center “Molon Labe” Battle Worn Red Ceracote has a Apex Tactical Flat Trigger with a shield red dot a Streamlight tlr and taran tactical +3 base plate. In perfect condition only one magazine fired thru handgun to test function and it shoots flawlessly and is very accurate. I have 2k invested in this build. Looking to sell to fund another project. Thanks for looking.

Originally this M&P should have run the buyer roughly $800.  How this person sunk $2k into this gun is beyond me.  It’s also possible (although I’m very doubtful) that only one mag was fired through this gun.  Or maybe he did blow his whole ammo budget on the gun.

While I certainly may not agree with what’s been done to the gun, the M&P lineup from Smith & Wesson is solid.  I’m sure this M&P is no exception but begs the question “why?”.  Like many themed guns featured here on HGFC, it looks like someone liked the idea of the gun more than the gun itself.

Of course, and as always, I could be wrong.  Maybe this has some hidden value or potential that I’m failing to see, or maybe someone just failed their 9th grade art class.  Either way, I leave it up to you, the reader, to decide.
