Croatian Man Turns in His Entire Arsenal Over to the Police

Spotted a few days ago on Twitter via user @Progrockfarmer, we saw an entire arsenal being turned in by a Croatian citizen. As you can see from the picture above, the man had quite the armory at his disposal and it is far more than just a handful of rifles and a boatload of ammo. This man’s personal weapons cache also featured artillery rounds, hand grenades, belt-fed machine guns, and much more.

Although I am fairly certain that a good portion of these weapons aren’t legal to own in Croatia by private citizens I couldn’t find any information as to why he decided to turn all of these into the police. As part of his arsenal it seems he has collected:

    • M72 LAW (7 Launchers)
    • What appear to be RPG-18s
    • 82mm Mortar Shell
    • Numerous rifle grenades
    • MG42 (3 units)
    • PPSh-41
    • Thompson Submachine Gun
    • M91/30 Mosin-Nagant
    • Hand grenades
    • RPK
    • Several SKS rifles
    • AK type rifle
    • Several Bolt Action Rifles I can’t identify

I did a bit more research and discovered that both the explosives and rocket launchers are all Category A prohibited weapons. As part of Category A weapons military and police weapons are also considered prohibited. Croatian citizens first need to obtain a firearm permit for shooting sports and hunting weapons.

It is unknown if any of these weapons are considered collectibles (Category C) as possession of these devices in an inoperative condition wouldn’t be considered against the law in Croatia – but if that was the case then one has to wonder why he would turn them in.

Something curious I noticed about this collection of weapons is not a single one of them is a handgun. If you’re an avid firearms collector then I don’t see why you wouldn’t at least own one or two handguns but in this particular situation, the man seemed to only collect rifles, machine guns, and anti-tank weapons, regardless the collection can be summed up in two words: Life Goals.
