The second stage of the Sniper Frontier competition for field training of sniper units has started in the Baltic Fleet

In the Baltic Fleet, snipers from formations and military units of the Army Corps of the Navy have begun preparations for the second stage of the Sniper Frontier field training competition for sniper units, which will be held within the framework of the International Army Games 2021.

During the competition, servicemen practice hitting targets without a sighting shot and using improvised means to mask firing positions, including on terrain without natural shelters.

During the shooting competitions, sniper pairs performed reconnaissance of targets and determining the distance to them, conducting aiming fire from sniper rifles at distances from 500 to 1,300 meters in various conditions during the day and at night, as well as correcting the fire with the use of observation and aiming devices.

The final stage will be a 3-kilometer march, during which snipers will demonstrate their skills in terrain orientation. At the final point of the route, they will have to show their ability to destroy the manpower of a conventional enemy at extremely long distances.

More than 50 snipers take part in this stage, among which there are both experienced military personnel under contract with sufficient experience, and novice snipers.
