Russian companies are a common and interesting presence at any IDEX event. Kalashnikov Concern had a very well-organized and active area with all their models, including the latest releases such as the AK-19 and the MP-155 shotgun. Here we’ll look at a less familiar (and pronounceable) name: Rosoboronexport.
The organization is not a manufacturer, but the sole state Russian agency dealing with international export of defense-related material. Below we can see the two main types of firearms brought at IDEX.
Rosoboronexport – KORD Assault Rifles

[IDEX 2021] Russian KORD Assault Rifles and Lobaev Sniper Rifles at Rosoboronexport – 6P67 KORD balanced action 5.45x39mm assault rifle.

[IDEX 2021] Russian KORD Assault Rifles and Lobaev Sniper Rifles at Rosoboronexport – 6P68 KORD balanced action 7.62x39mm assault rifle.
Both weapons employ a version of the balanced action gas-operated system, conceptually similar to other Russian developments. An interesting and exclusively Russian approach to recoil reduction, that traces back to older designs.
The models at IDEX showed what is nowadays a pretty unconventional featureless handguard, retractable stock, and extensive use of polymers.
Rosoboronexport – Lobaev Arms Sniper Rifles

[IDEX 2021] Russian KORD Assault Rifles and Lobaev Sniper Rifles at Rosoboronexport – Lobaev Arms TSVL-8 “Stalingrad” Tactical Sniper Rifle, available in .338 Lapua Magnum or .300 Win Mag

[IDEX 2021] Russian KORD Assault Rifles and Lobaev Sniper Rifles at Rosoboronexport – Lobaev Arms DXL-3 “Vozmezdie” Long Range Sniper Rifle, available in .338 Lapua Magnum or .300 Win Mag. (The tag identifies this model as DXL-4, but there are good chances that the tags were misplaced)

[IDEX 2021] Russian KORD Assault Rifles and Lobaev Sniper Rifles at Rosoboronexport – Lobaev Arms DXL-3 “Vozmezdie” Long Range Sniper Rifle. Detail of the bolt head. One TFB author may have broken the support hook behind the grip while opening the bolt and spent ten minutes holding the rifle, waiting for someone to see him… it’s not light.

[IDEX 2021] Russian KORD Assault Rifles and Lobaev Sniper Rifles at Rosoboronexport – Lobaev Arms DXL-4 “Sevastopol” Ultra-Long Range Sniper Rifle, available in .408 or .375 Cheyenne Tactical. The skeletonized grip is likely just for show samples. (The tag identifies this model as DXL-3, but there are good chances that the tags were misplaced)
