New Design: MDT Vertical Grip ELITE

New Design: MDT Vertical Grip ELITE

Modular Driven Technologies has released a new version of their vertical grip called MDT Vertical Grip Elite. They claim it’s the most adjustable grip available for the AR-15 interface. The new MDT Vertical Grip Elite has two models. One is for Standard Chassis Rifles and the other is for AR10/15. To the best of my knowledge, the previous version (which I have and use on my Ruger Precision Rifle) was never compatible with the AR platform. The new design has a pocket for the detent spring in the top of the grip for a standard AR10/15 safety.

The MDT Vertical Grip Elite grip’s green version can be seen below. What do you think?

Here’s what MDT had to say about their new product:

The MDT Vertical Grip ELITE allows the shooter to adjust the distance and angle from the grip to the trigger. Adjusting the grip position enables the shooter to properly position their hand and guarantee a 90 degree trigger press. This will lead to better accuracy and safer trigger manipulation.

This chassis grip offers forward and backward adjustment, and angular adjustment of up to 10° rearward for shooters who prefer a slightly “off vertical” angle for wrist comfort.

The MDT Vertical Grip ELITE is larger in size than its Premier counterpart, making it perfect for shooters with larger hands or who simply prefer a larger grip.

    The specifications are as follows:

    • 3/8″ (10mm) forward / backward adjustment
    • 10° angular adjustment (vertical to 10° rearwards angle)
    • Comfortable rubber overmold
    • Grooves and external texturing for non-slip gripping
    • 6061 aluminum core
    • Available in Black, FDE, Grey and MDT Green

If you chose the Standard Chassis Rifle version, it’s compatible with all the MDT Chassis Systems (except the MDT XRS) and it should also work with any other chassis that accepts a standard AR15 grip.

The price is $89.95 and you can find a direct link here.

There are a few pictures of my Ruger Precision Rifle with the previous MDT vertical grip, and the Pulsar Trail 2 Thermal in this review (scroll down).

Have you tried a vertical grip and how do you like it?
