KT Tactical Design Balanced Rail System for Glock 43X/48 Pistols

Kevin O’Brien of KT Tactical Design has introduced his patent-pending Glock 43X and 48 frame modification. The Balanced Rail System is a permanent modification for the Glock 43X/48 that is supposed to reduce recoil as well as add rail space on the bottom of either of the handguns. The Balanced Rail System also serves as an added safety measure as a place to rest your trigger finger when not prepared to fire.

The Balanced Rail System is a simple to install counterweight device that integrates weight reduction, added safety, and increased functionality into one device. As stated by Kevin, the primary function of the Balanced Rail System is to provide reduced recoil to make the gun easier and more fun to shoot. The second primary function of the unit is to provide a safe place for your trigger finger to rest as it places your finger flat at a spot that is well outside the trigger guard.

Finally, the Balanced rail system provides a single slot rail section for the mounting of pistol lights and or lasers. This is something that I find to be incredibly useful as I personally own a Glock 48 and have always wanted to mount a light to it. The Balanced Rail system might make a great alternative to switching from a vanilla Glock 48 over to a Glock 48 or 43X MOS pistol which features an integrated sing slot rail.

In tandem with a laser and the recoil reduction capabilities of the rail system, I feel as if this accessory might make itself right at home with shooters who are struggling with the recoil of either the Glock 43x or 48.

If it does indeed make either pistol more pleasant to shoot then this would make it much easier for someone to get out to the range and train more often as opposed to not training because of the unpleasantness of the recoil. If you’re solely interested in using the rail system and don’t want/need the reduced recoil weight, a nylon insert is also included that replaces the 2 oz weight.
