Welcome everyone to the 82nd edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only have Fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.
In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the 10mm not a Glock was just fudd crap.
At this time the original auction has ended, with the 10mm Lone Wolf custom selling for $717.00. Congratulations to buyer Eddie901 on the purchase of what they’ve deemed is a hot gat.
In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a rare Anzio Ironworks Suitcase .50BMG. As is tradition, this large caliber blaster is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $4,449.00 with No Reserve.
HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP?
Sweet Cased 50 or Portable Hearing Damage?
Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:
“Are you a glutton for punishment? Do you already drink Monster energy drinks, have a lifted pickup your parents bought, and punch drywall?” *[gun counter salesman slaps briefcase]*
You won’t believe what we’ve got inside here for you!” – Adam S.
“One shot one kill guaranteed… one side or the other” – Giorgio O.
“For the shooter who enjoys screwing their guns” – Matt M.
“Do you like concussions? Then hop aboard the 16” .50BMG express to a TBI.” – Rusty S.
“This is the final boss meme gun after you’ve collected every other meme gun.” – Will P.
Selling this case carried .50BMG is GunBroker seller P.F.I. Firearms, located in Richmond Hill, GA. Let’s see what they had to say about this man-portable 50.

There was only 50 of these ever made And 48 of them went to the government here’s your chance to get a real piece of history and I truly one of a kind 50 cal Assassin rifle!! Back in 2009, the FBI even went as far as to purchase some of the Anzio 20mm rifles with suppressors. For what use, we’ll probably never know. Sure there are plenty of reasons why someone might want a compact .50BMG, but shooting it for fun probably isn’t one of them.
Regardless of how I might feel about the practicality of this particular setup, there is a certain cool factor I’m forced to acknowledge. We’ve all seen countless Hollywood movies where the good (or bad) guy assemble their “sniper rifle” before taking the shot. This, to me, is the real-world personification of that.
So is that cool factor worth $4,499? There are fewer and fewer ranges that will allow .50BMG nowadays, and this gun feels like it would spend more time in the safe. With that said, there were apparently only 50 of these ever made. So is it worth it for the price? As always, I leave it up to you, the readers, to decide.
What do you think? Is this case carried 50bmg a Hot Gat or some asking for nerve damage Fudd Crap? Be sure to let us know in the comments below, and cast your vote to let us know if this Anzio Ironworks suitcase 50bmg is a Hot Gat or Fudd Crap:
