Align Tactical is a Texas-based company that has recently introduced its first product – an offset extended magazine release designed for SIG Sauer P320 and P250 pistols. What sets the Align Tactical magazine release apart from the other extended mag releases available on the market is that besides being extended, it has what the company calls stair-step design which diagonally shifts the magazine release button location towards the trigger allowing to wrap your primary hand higher on the grip, without interfering with the mag release button.

Here is how Align Tactical describes the advantages of their offset magazine release:

Reduced Reach

Increased leverage helps maintain a firing grip without having to shift the pistol in-hand during reloads. An enlarged button surface protrudes 2mm (0.08″) farther and is relocated higher up the grip frame to provide positive engagement while reducing thumb travel.

Enhanced Ergonomics

 Eliminate side-finger chafing when choking up high on the pistol grip. The OFFSET design allows resting the distal middle finger flush across the lower half of where the factory magazine release’s triangular bottom corner edge would be.

Higher Grip for Recoil Control

Obtain the highest grip with an unobstructed undercut that allows natural finger placement, thereby reducing muzzle flip to return the sights back to target quicker for a competitive edge.

The Align Tactical offset mag release is made of steel, is hardened and has a black oxide finish. This is a drop-in part that simply replaces the factory magazine release and does not require any modifications to the grip module. The installation process is shown in the video below.

The MSRP of Align Tactical offset extended magazine release is $34. It is compatible with SIG Sauer P320/P250 standard and X-Series grip modules. Being an asymmetric part, it is not reversible, however, there are both right- and left-handed options available. This product is made in the USA and comes with a lifetime warranty.

I think whether this will be a useful upgrade will largely depend on the hand size and gripping technique of any particular shooter.
