POTD: German MG3 Machine Gun, HK416 and G3

We recently had a look at not so common SG-43 Goryunov Machine Gun. Today it’s time for the more common German MG3 machine gun. Above you can see a student assigned to the U. S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School. He is in the Special Forces Weapons Sergeant Course, in the best class of them all – the foreign weapons training. The location is Fort Bragg, North Carolina May 13, 2020.

Below you can see a bunch of other German firearms.

These look like Heckler & Koch HK416s.

The Soldiers were trainined to employ, maintain and engage targets with select U.S. and foreign pistols, rifles, shotguns, submachine and machine guns, grenade launchers and mortars and in the utilization of observed fire procedures.

Here you can see the German G3 rifle, with iron sights. You should compare this picture with the U.S. Special Forces with Swedish Ak 4B Rifles with the Aimpoint CS.
