The Very Expensive Budget Red Dot: US Optics TSR-1X
US Optics is best known for their expensive, high magnification rifle scopes, but they’ve recently expanded into red dots as well. The new offerings are the TSR-1X, a 20mm micro red dot for carbines, and the DRS series of pistol red dots. In this episode of TFBTV, Hop reviews the US Optics TSR-1X to see if it can carve out a place in the market alongside Holosun, Vortex, and the once and future budget champ: the SIG Romeo 5.

Bushnell used to offer red dots made in South Korea suspected by Military contractor DI optical for <$200 but DI got out of the civilian game for some reason. Japan used to make some for Nikon at $200 but Nikon got out of the market too. Some of the red dots like the Vortex Viper is made in the Philippines, and the Trijicon MRO made in the US is able to offer an option as low as $350. There are places to make cheap stuff other than China guys...
$250 for the exact same Chinese made dot. Anybody else feel ripped off yet? $50 eBay for the same thing with no warranty. I like to roll the dice.
