POTD: Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen

Photo Of The Day – There will be no boating accidents today, as we look at Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen (SWCC) units in action. They are a part of the United States Naval Special Warfare Command supporting units like the U.S. Navy SEALs. The soldiers in SWCC have a similar training program like the Navy SEALs, but the focus is clandestine infiltration and exfiltration of Special Forces.

From the SWCC (Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewman) website:

I WILL CLOSE AND ENGAGE THE ENEMY WITH THE FULL COMBAT POWER OF MY CRAFT

Stunning photos of Navy SWCC in full combat power action. Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewman (SWCC): a quiet professional; tried, tested and dedicated to achieving excellence in maritime special operations. Their heritage comes from the Sailors who operated the PT boats of World War II and the combatant craft of Vietnam.

Below you have the Special Operations Craft Riverine (SOC-R) with, for instance, the GAU-17 Minigun. This boat is specifically designed for the clandestine insertion and extraction of U.S. Navy SEALs and other special operations forces along shallow waterways and open water environments.

You may recognize it from the 2012 movie called Act of Valor.
