HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Zombie Ready AR or Cerakote Monster?

Welcome everyone to the 80th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only have Fudd appeal?  Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the Mandalorian themed 1911 was fudd crap.

At this time the original auction has ended with zero bids for this custom 1911.  We can only hope that it found its way to a new home.

In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a zombie-themed AR-15 chambered in 7.62×39. As is tradition, this zombie inspired blaster is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $1,000 Current Bid or $1,800 Buy It Now.

Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:

Not only does it look terrible but since it’s an AR chambered in 7.62×39 it’s sure to malfunction as well! I’d advise anyone to burn their money infront of them for heat rather than buying this absolute trash monster.”  – Matt E.

“Looks like an accident with a lawn mover.” – Eric B.

“Oh, the heady days of the zombie craze…when all we had to worry about was fantasy” – Rusty S.

“I shall name thee Ebola Hulk” – Giorgio O.

This isn’t the first zombie-themed firearm to be featured here on HGFC, but it certainly has one of the strangest Cerakote jobs this series has seen.  It literally looks like someone might have left their fingerprints in the Cerakote on this one.

What separates this “one of a kind” zombie-themed AR from everything else is the muzzle device.  There’s never a shortage of zombie inspired guns. It’s always those that have standoff muzzle devices that raise eyebrows. Just please understand that a standoff muzzle device on an AR-15 is never going to be useful or practical in any way.

The gun has plenty of parts from manufacturers I like, but it’s not in a caliber I like in this platform.  7.62×39 has historically been cheaper than 5.56/.223, but it’s not exactly a drop-in ready caliber for the AR-15.  Of course, maybe I’m wrong and this is a hidden gem I’m glossing over.  So I leave it up to you, the reader, to decide.
