[SHOT 2021] Black and Venomous – The Volquartsen Mamba-X

    Volquartsen Mamba-X

Pistols chambered in .22LR have been slaying tin cans in the backyard for decades. This, however, is not your Grandpappy’s .22. In the rimfire competition world, few names conjure the feeling of solid, sleek, and precise like Volquartsen. If you are a fan of their previous pistols, you’re going to want to pay attention. Black and venomous, in slithers the Volquartsen Mamba-X.

Carroll, IA Volquartsen Firearms, an industry leader in precision rimfire firearms manufacturing, has expanded on their line of Black Mamba 22 LR pistols with the new Mamba-X.

With the introduction of the Black Mamba in 2019, followed by the Black Mamba-TF in 2020, the Mamba-X is the latest addition to this line of highly sought after pistols.

At the business end is a 1/2 x 28 threaded 4.5″ stainless steel barrel. The breech is laser-hardened and contained within a type III hard-anodized aluminum shroud. Volquartsen’s Single-Port Compensator is there to bring the low-recoiling round down to a no-recoiling round. Also standard is a DLC-coated Volquartsen Competition Bolt and accurizing kit, which provides the shooter with a 2.25lb trigger pull. The guns are available on a Ruger MK IV target frame or a Ruger MK IV 22/45 frame.

The LLV-4X upper will also be offered as a stand-alone. Drop in the Volquartsen Competition Bolt or the factory Ruger MK IV bolt, and run it!

The MSRP on the Mamba-X is $1,342.00. Complete pistols should be available in the next six months. If you just want the upper, you’re looking at an MSRP of $489.00. Head over to their website for more details. Keep up to date through their YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
