POTD: Tor-M2 Air Defense Missile Systems and Kalashnikovs

Another look at a snow-covered Russia in our Photo Of The Day. We look at anti-aircraft gunners of the Kantemirovskaya tank division of the Western Military District. They’re taking part in field exercises at the Golovenki training ground near Moscow, where they practiced what actions to take in the event of an air attack. During the training, the Tor-M2 air defense missile system performed missile launches at various drones from a simulated enemy.

I wonder if mobile phones and other electronic devices work well nearby these vehicles?

As we’re in Russia, there are Kalashnikovs everywhere.

I’m not sure what is going on here, perhaps they are practicing an ambush on themselves?

I managed to find this video of the Tor-M2. The M2 is a low to medium altitude, short-range surface-to-air missile system. A typical target is a helicopter, cruise missiles or a UAV.
