NEW Browning MAXUS II Semi-Auto Shotgun

    Browning Maxus II

Waterfowlers rejoice! Browning has released the second generation of their Maxus semi-auto shotgun – the Maxus II. The new shotgun has a number of redesigned and restyled parts as well as new technologies incorporated into its design to improve over the previous generation. The main new features of this Browning autoloader include the restyled aluminum receiver, oversized controls (bolt handle and bolt catch), redesigned furniture with overmolded rubber grip panels, new SoftFlex cheek pad and Inflex recoil pad, screw-on magazine cap and ramped trigger guard that helps to guide the shells into the magazine. Let’s see what other features Maxus II shotguns pack and what options are available.

Maxus II is a gas-operated shotgun utilizing the Browning Power Drive gas systems. This shotgun is currently available in 12 gauge only. The barrels of Maxus II shotguns have chrome-lined bores and chambers, are threaded for choke tubes, and have 1/4″ ventilated ribs fitted with fiber-optic front sights and ivory mid-beads. The stock cast, drop and length of pull are shim-adjustable. The lightened tubular magazine has a capacity of four 2-3/4″ shells. The bolt, bolt slide, shell carrier, bolt release and bolt handle are Nickel Teflon coated. Maxus II shotguns also feature the fast Lightning Trigger System, Speed Load Plus system that automatically chambers the first round loaded into the magazine tube, a magazine cut-off, and Browning’s Total Barrel Dynamics technology that includes a lengthened forcing cone and back-bored bore. Browning Maxus II shotguns are shipped in ABS plastic cases.

Currently, five versions of Browning Maxus II shotgun are listed on the company’s website. Above I described the specs that are identical across the Maxus II model line.
