By now most SHOT Show attendees and other interested parties are aware that SHOT 2021 has sadly been cancelled. Although the NSSF tried their best to find a way to carry on in spite of the ‘Rona and its related responses, unfortunately as of October 30th, there was no viable choice left but to call it. We’ll now have to wait an extra year for the firearms industry’s next top convention and trade show, but some upcoming alternatives have begun to surface, in an attempt to help fill the void in the interim and provide companies with a way to showcase new product offerings. Many of these are online events, like TFB and TFB TV’s own Gun Fest, which has already garnered a great response and is sure to be a great way to tide us over.

Recently (just before SHOT Show’s cancellation) TNVC, or the Tactical Night Vision Company, announced that they will also be hosting a virtual trade show in 2021 in conjunction with their sister entity, Night Goggles, Inc. This event will feature a five-day schedule including a Range Day, a New Product Features day, “Night Goggles Takeover” day, Night Vision Applications day, and will finish out with a day of “Looking Ahead – Future of Night Vision”. During the January 18th-22nd event, TNVC will even give away a gen 3 PVS-15 monocular, as an added incentive and bonus for participating. They have dubbed this the virtual Shooting, Hunting, Outdoors, & Tactical Tele-Event, or vSHOTT. TNVC’s October 13th press release introducing vSHOTT reads as follows.

Participating in TNVC's vSHOTT could win you a PVS-14 monocular similar to this one!

    October 13th, 2020 – TNVC vSHOTT

[solemn voice] In these unprecedented times…

No one’s sick of hearing that, right?

TNVC and Night Goggles Inc. are proud to announce that in addition to our attendance at the 2021 NSSF Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoors Trade (SHOT) Show at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada at Booth 6502, they will be hosting for the first time, a virtual Shooting, Hunting, Outdoors, & Tactical Tele-Event: vSHOTT 2021.

This First Ever TNVC/NGI VSHOTT will consist of five days of online events starting on January 18th, 2021, starting every day at 5:00PM PT/8:00PM ET until January 22nd, 2021 and will feature new product announcements and features, range and training tips, educational videos, and a daily, interactive live “Virtual Circle Bar” panel discussion event every night from Tuesday to Friday where participants can ask questions directly to the TNVC’s Staff and Special Guests! There will also be exclusive vSHOTT discounts, specials, and giveaways to include a TNV/PVS-14 Gen. 3 Monocular Night Vision Device*, complete with TNVC’s transferrable Lifetime Limited Warranty!

With so many changes in the industry over the past several years, vSHOTT has been a concept that we’ve kicked around for many years—we have long recognized that not everyone is an “industry insider,” nor can everyone travel every year and want to spend so much on travel, lodging, and other expenses, yet it does not mean that they are any less deserving of taking part in industry events and new product showcases.

The combination of circumstances that has so far typified 2020 and look like they will extend into January of 2021 provided the impetus to hit the gas on our vSHOTT plans for 2021, and we’re extremely excited to be able to open up vSHOTT 2021 to all audiences to participate and take part in this new media Tele-Event!

TNVC and Night Goggles Inc. will still be attending the NSSF SHOT Show in Las Vegas with staff available for in-person meetings at Booth 6502.

    Stay tuned for more details!
