Welcome everyone to the 73rd edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only have Fudd appeal?  Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the competition ready Browning Hi Power was a very hot gat.

At this time the original auction remains up, and the Hi Power is still up for sale.  We hope this hot gat can find its way to a new home in the very near future.

In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at an Old Glory themed 38 Special Package. As is tradition, this patriotic wheel gun is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $400 with No Reserve.

Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:

“If you need one more reason to carry concealed” – Giorgio O.

“Luckily it says it’s made in the USA. I could never have guessed” – Eric B.

“What Thomas Jefferson would have in his saddlebag if he were a crack dealer” – James Reeves

“Somehow this is even more boomer than a cheap 1911 in a universal nylon holster.” – Will P.

“Someone’s got some real artistic talent there, and they seem pretty humble about the price compared to other HGFC entries. Still fuddy as all get-out, but I’ll give credit where it’s due.” – Doug E.

“Perhaps the perfect cargo shorts, flip flops, and Yosemite Sam t-shirt carry gun.” – Nic L.

“Perfect for protecting your Elvis plates and Hummel figurines.” – Rusty S.

Selling this freedom-themed gat is GunBroker seller C.L. Thomas, located in Renton WA.  Let’s see what they had to say about this wheelgun combo.

While Charter Arms does make an “Old Glory” model, this model does vary slightly with grips and finish.  Interestingly enough, the factory gun costs $478.80 making this combo a bargain of sorts.

I have to say the revolver paired with a Buck Knife in the holster is rather funny.  A Buck folding knife is about the last thing I would expect anyone to use as a secondary weapon.  Still, I’m sure there are dozens of people out there that think this combination is superior.

So is the whole package all around over the top?  Absolutely.  Does that mean someone won’t buy it?  I guess we have yet to find out.  As always, it’s up to you the readers to decide here if it’s a Hot Gat or Fudd Crap.
