Strike Industries have released a new series of AR-15 grips called AR Overmolded Enhanced Pistol Grip (OMPG). These grips may look familiar to you as their appearance is pretty much identical to SI Enhanced Pistol Grips. The difference, as implied by the name, is in the overmolded rubber design of the OMPG grips as opposed to the plain polymer construction of the Enhanced Pistol Grips. Let’s see what other features are included in the design of these new grips.
The rubberized surface in conjunction with the wide grip body, tapered palm web area and beavertail extension are advertised to provide maximum comfort and control over the weapon when manipulating the controls and using the gun for extended periods of time. The overmolded rubber material along with the texture on the sides of these grips and the serrations on the front and back straps are designed to provide a non-slip solid grip. The Strike Industries OMPG is available in three grip angle options: 15, 20 and 25 degrees. The angle of the 25-degree grip is similar to that of the standard A2 grip.
The Strike Industries OMPG also features a rubber internal cavity cap allowing to store essential tactical supplies as shown in the top image of this article. These grips are compatible with AR-15 and AR-10 lower receivers. Well, they should fit any other gun or grip adapter that takes AR grips with beavertail extensions. The OMPG grips weigh in at 3.7 oz and have the following dimensions: length – 5.5″, width – 3.5″, thickness – 1.67″.
Strike Industries AR Overmolded Enhanced Pistol Grips are listed on the company’s website at an MSRP of $23.95. The 15-degree version is available in black or FDE colors. The 20 and 25 degree grips are currently offered in the black color only. The price is identical for all angle and color options.
