POTD: International Specialty Training Center High Angle Sniper Course
Photo Of The Day: Today’s pictures are from Hochfilzen, Austria, and as you can see it was quite a steep walk for the snipers as well as the photographer. Above you see Belgian Special Forces sniper teams as they engage long-range targets, from an elevated shooting range as part of the High Angle Sniper Course. Below are an Italian Special Forces Sniper and International Special Training Center Sniper instructor as they climb to the shooting range.
They also made a short video from the event, where you can see the rifles in action. The .50 BMG has quite some kick in the Barrett M107A1.

The high angle sniper course lasts two weeks and is designed to teach and train sniper teams the necessary skills to operate in mountainous terrain.

*copious "train in full loadout" rant here*
The 1st and 5th photo have such depth-of-field and grass colors that they looks like Action figures on a H0-scale model railroad...
But beautiful mountains. Especially the morning shot in the video where valley beneath is fulled with fog. I love mountains. Not the climbing that much...
