True Velocity are joining the board. The Texas-based hybrid ammunition manufacturer is set to join the Board of Directors of SAAMI – the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute. If you’re unfamiliar with SAAMI they are an organisation, founded back in 1926, that creates technical, safety and performance standards for US ammunition manufacture. Made up of representatives from major US ammunition manufacturers, True Velocity’s joining of the board as a voting member is a significant achievement for the company that specialises in lightweight hybrid ammunition that makes extensive use of polymers.

GARLAND, TX (October 12, 2020) –The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute (SAAMI) has announced Texas-based True Velocity has been approved as SAAMI’s newest member. True Velocity, which manufactures composite cased ammunition for military, law enforcement and civilian use, will have full voting rights, and members of True Velocity’s leadership team will be named to sit on SAAMI committees in the coming weeks.
SAAMI is an association of the nation’s leading manufacturers of firearms, ammunition and components. The U.S. federal government tasks SAAMI to create and promote technical, performance and safety standards for firearms, ammunition, and components, as well as to be the preeminent global resource for the safe and responsible transportation, storage, and use of these products.
“We are honored to have True Velocity voted into membership by SAAMI,” said True Velocity’s CEO, Kevin Boscamp. “Our goal is to continue to push the industry forward in terms of products, manufacturing, safety and technology. Having a seat at the table with SAAMI will help ensure future products are designed and manufactured with the precision consumers deserve.”
As the first manufacturer focused exclusively on composite-cased cartridges to be inducted into SAAMI, True Velocity will help set the standards and performance specifications for new cartridges in the future.
