The Overmountain Rifle. Note the date.

Here’s how Geissele describe their October ICON rifle:

This Geissele ICON Rifle commemorates the Battle of Kings Mountain that occurred on October 7th, 1780 marked a pivotal victory during the American Revolution. Like all Geissele ICON Rifles, the “Overmountain Rifle” is not available for purchase. It is a one-of-a-kind Rifle and the only way to obtain it is to be selected as the sole winner of this giveaway.

Built on our Super Duty Line, the “Overmountain Rifle” offers all the engineering and manufacturing improvements that are expected from a Geissele Rifle. Featuring an in-house 16” CHF barrel chambered in 5.56mm, it utilizes our Geissele Length gas system and a Super Gas Block to ensure reliability under extreme conditions and heavy use. An SSA-E X with Lightning Bow® trigger, exclusive to the Super Duty line, offers the perfect balance between a classic M4 trigger bow and our Super Dynamic flat bow trigger.  An Ultra Duty Lower Parts Kit completes the lower with its included Ultra Precision™ 5-Axis Trigger Guard, and a Maritime Bolt Catch.

Adding to the uniqueness of this Rifle is the Super Stabby Bayonet Mount, which allows mounting of an M9 Bayonet to a modern Rifle. Our Geissele Rail Panels, with their aggressive texture, are the perfect accessory to contrast the 15” MK16 Super Modular Rail’s smooth finish and rounded profile. In addition, our Geissele Folding BUIS are included to provide a rugged, reliable aiming system and come zeroed to the Rifle by our in-house sharpshooter.

All of these parts come together to make a Rifle that any Overmountain Man would have been proud to field across the American Frontier.

The MSRP of this complete package (if we were to sell it) is $2,435.

My favorite ICON rifle is still “The Last Man Standing”. The second one was “Freedom’s Remembrance”.
