Taurus has now introduced the Viridian Essential Red Laser Sight for the TX22 which has been specifically designed for the pistol as a concealed carry companion. The new offering is part of Viridians E-Series of weapon-mounted lasers.

Here is the full description of the Viridian Essential Red Laser Sight from the Taurus website:

Viridian’s E SERIES laser sight is specifically designed for the everyday conceal and carry owner. This model specific, trigger guard mounted, laser sight offers the most powerful red laser legally available, delivering rapid target acquisition when you need it most.

    • Easy installation onto the trigger guard of your pistol
    • Ambidextrous on/off button with 5 min auto shut off
    • 25 yard range in daylight and 1 mile at night
    • Constant laser with 6 + hours battery life
    • Easy windage and elevation adjustment

    Fits the Taurus TX22

Now, personally, I don’t use lasers on any of my carry guns, however, they do have merit especially in low light situations. The only situation where I think I would find myself buying this particular laser would be if I carried the gun for self-defense, or if I had a threaded barrel and wanted to do some low light shooting. Tritium sights are available for the TX22 however sometimes a laser is just more practical for quick target acquisition.

The Viridian Essential Red Laser Sight for the Taurus TX22 is available now via the Taurus website at shoptaurus.com. The website also contains installation instructions for the laser with the TX22. Taurus is offering the laser for a price of $95 which comes in at about $40 less than their lasers for other pistols.
