Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report!  In this ongoing series, we discuss everything rimfire related. This week we’ve finally got something new for a change. So what does the Vudoo Gun Works V22S have to offer you as a rimfire rifle shooter? I’ll let you get the story straight from the horse’s mouth. Vudoo Gun Works have provided me with a full press release as well as some beautiful photos of their new rifle.

October 1st, 2020 –St George, UT – Vudoo Gun Works, leader in rimfire precision rifles, is
proud to announce the addition of the V-22S Single Shot Bolt Action, complete “target” specific rifle builds, and the Vudoo/Flavio Fare BR-VS Trigger.

The V-22S is a ground-up design that incorporates a number of new features that optimize function in single shot applications. The new features are, a three-lug bolt, six o’clock ignition and availalble in right bolt/right port, right bolt/left port, left bolt/left port and left bolt/right port. The 60-degree lift of the bolt promises to be the smoothest and lightest of any three-lug design on the market and dis-assembly re-assembly requires no tools! A newly designed fire control system is incredibly precise and provides highly consistent ignition thanks, in part to, the new Vudoo Gun Works/Flavio Fare BR-VS Trigger. Vudoo Gun Works teamed up with Flavio Fare to co-develop a trigger as an integral part of what is a completely new fire control system. But, if you have a favorite trigger, a 60-degree cocking piece will be available as an option at time of ordering.

The BR-VS Trigger is adjustable from .7 to 2.8 ounces with heavier pull weight ranges coming soon. Another first for this type of action is a complete color-coded mainspring kit with mainsprings ranging from 13 to 18-pound force. Users have the ability to further tune their ignition without the archaic practices of snipping springs to fine tune performance. As a complete system, these features deliver a level of consistency and precision that’s sure to deliver an unparalleled shooter experience.

The V-22S has all the makings of an extremely accurate rifle and it’s all contained within a highly polished, expertly crafted package that we’ve come to expect from Vudoo Gun Works. The new design of the V-22S is a patented repeater action that basically matches the Remington 700 short action design and fits in the same footprint – so you can probably drop this barreled action and trigger into any Remington 700 compatible stock or chassis if the one Vudoo has doesn’t suit you.

This rifle isn’t exactly for your casual shooter and Vudoo heavily implies that this rifle is for rimfire competition. With the size and scale of this rifle being on par with a centerfire precision rifle I would think that it would offer many advantages over smaller profiled rimfire precision rifles.

On the subject of single shots, I feel training on a single shot rifle benefits you overall as a shooter. I myself started with a single shot rifle as a child before moving on to a semi-auto 10/22 and I am a better shot for it. An additional note is that as I’ve progressed in my shooting life, I’ve noticed I tend to enjoy the manual manipulation of firearms like bolt actions, pump actions, and even single-shot breech-loading weapons. Does that have anything to do with how accurate or reliable the V-22S is? No, but I felt like sharing it anyway.

The V-22S is set to retail for an MSRP of between $2,800 – $3,450 depending on options and is available to order directly from Vudoo Gun Works. The ordering process is very simple, all you have to do is choose your trigger, barrel length, scope base MOA, and stock color…that’s it, you’ve got yourself a new precision rimfire rifle.
