Welcome everyone to the 67th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only have Fudd appeal?  Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the x39 chambered AR was just soviet inspired fudd crap.

At this time the original auction has ended and the custom 7.62×39 chambered Palmetto has sold for $1,524.99.  Congratulations to buyer Gunslinga805 on what you have deemed is a hot gat.

In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a one of a kind sub-gun made from various parts. As is tradition, this very unique sub-gun is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $1,600 Starting Bid or $1,800 Buy It Now.

Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:

“This is the work I expect from someone with grass-stained New Balances and says the gun is “slick”” – Matt E.

“Cobbling this together from random parts in your garage just to see if you can make it work, fine. Dropping that kind of cash on it? Please get your head checked.” – Will P.

“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure… or so they say” – Giorgio O.

“All kinds of guns were harmed in the making of this “gun”.” – Sam S.

“Reminds me of Johnny Cash’s “One piece at a time”, in gun form” – Rusty S.

Selling this strange-looking gat is GunBroker seller sterling9mm, located in Fort Lauderdale FL.  Let’s see what they had to say about this one of a kind sub-gun.

MK 60 Dora, 9×19, Semi Auto 16″ barrel, built and designed by a reputable builder using Thompson 1927A1 stock and forearm, VZ52 FCG, hammer fired with Sten mag well and modified bolt. Comes with 3 Sten mags, barrel is very clean with strong rifling, safety lever in front of trigger, 9lbs.

While the builder may be reputable (or at least the seller claims this is the case), the build quality doesn’t really scream “reputable”.  Either way, those welds don’t inspire a whole lot of confidence.

This “MK 60 Dora” (as the seller calls it) is a strange blend of parts from various guns. Other pieces like the front sight block look like they might have been milled just for this project. It’s a strange level of dedication that’s both confusing and admirable.

Additionally, the builder even added sling attachment points and made the gun semi-modern in a few areas.  Personally, I’d be curious to see how the gun actually shot, or if it functioned reliably.  Does this mean I’m not still baffled by its existence?  Absolutely not.

So what’s the worth of something like this?  I guess that depends on if you think the gun is cursed, or you’re now even more curious.  Either way and as always, I leave it up to you the reader to decide.
